Oil Pump Overhaul: Disassembly
Remove oil pump drive shaft extension but DO NOT remove washers. Place thumb over pressure regulator valve bore and remove cotter pin, spring and pressure regulator valve. Remove oil pump cover screws, cover and gasket. Remove drive gear and idler gear from pump body. See Fig 1.

NOTE:
When assembling drive shaft extension-to-drive shaft, the end of extension nearest washers must be inserted into drive shaft. Make sure washer is 1 11/32" from end of shaft.
