Engine Identification: Notes

Engine may be identified from Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). VIN is on metal tab on top of instrument panel at lower left of windshield. VIN number also appears as part of production or unit number on pad on left front of engine, below cylinder head. The VIN number contains 17 characters. The 8th character identifies engine and 10th character establishes model year.
