Outside Ambient Air Temperature Incorrect Or Does Not Vary

NOTE: Cluster has a memory for outside temperature feature. It will display temperature last read with ignition on and speedometer cable turning. For a current reading, ignition must be on and speedometer cable must be turning.
  1. Ensure "OUTSIDE" temperature is displayed on cluster. Compare outside temperature displayed with temperature measured with a thermometer placed next to the outside air sensor. The difference between temperatures should not be more than 2°F.
  2. If difference is more than specified, disconnect negative battery cable. Remove left front speaker cover. Unplug cluster harness connector. Measure resistance between pins B (Light Green/Black wire) and U (Black wire). Compare resistance to specified value. See Temperature Sensor Resistance chart.
  3. If resistance is as specified, replace cluster. If not, replace outside temperature sensor.
