No Fuel Gauge Display
NOTE:
The "E" and "F" and "FUEL" will not be lit if there is an open in the fuel tank sending unit circuit.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove left front speaker cover. Unplug cluster harness connector. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between pins R (Pink wire) and T (Black wire). Reading should be 4-86 ohms.
- If resistances are good, replace cluster. If resistances are not to specification, unplug 6 wire connector near fuel tank.
- Connect an ohmmeter between the Pink wire in the male half of the connector and pin R of the cluster connector. Check for opens or shorts.
- If wiring is okay, lower fuel tank. Connect ohmmeter between the Pink wire (female connector) of the 6 wire connector near the fuel tank and the Pink wire at the sending unit.
- Check for opens or shorts. Ensure ground wire is attached to fuel tank. If wiring is good, replace sending unit.
