No Engine Hot Tone
- Check "Gauges" and "CLK-CIG" fuses. If fuses are good, start engine. After 15 seconds, unplug coolant temperature sensor connector. Connect Red rheostat leads from tester (J-33431-A) to center and outer terminal of coolant temperature sensor connector.
- Set resistance to 60 ohms. The hot tone should sound when the "HOT" and "X" flash on and off. If not, remove left hand sound absorber from above brake pedal. Start engine. After 15 seconds, with tester still connected, set resistance to 1600 ohms.
- Using a digital voltmeter, check reading at Dark Green/White wire of chimes/voice module connector. Module is in center of instrument panel under radio. Voltmeter should read battery voltage. Set resistance to 60 ohms. Voltmeter should read 0-1.5 volts.
- If voltages are correct in step 3), replace chimes/voice module. If not, disconnect negative battery cable. Check for opens or shorts between Dark Green/White wire of module and pin L (Dark Green/White wire) of cluster harness connector. If wiring is good, replace cluster.
