No Cluster Dimming
- Check "INST" fuse. If good, place a dark patch over the photocell located above the "TEMP" button. Turn ignition on. Turn parking lights on. Turn headlight switch clockwise. Vacuum fluorescent display should dim. Display should get brighter when switch is turned counterclockwise.
- If system responds as described, turn lights off. Remove photocell patch. With ignition on, place bright light if front of photocell. Display should go to full brilliance. Cover photocell. Display should dim. If system does not function as described, replace cluster.
- If system does not respond as described in step 1), turn ignition and lights off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove left front speaker cover. Unplug cluster harness connector. Connect battery cable.
- Turn parking lights on. Using a digital voltmeter, check between pins S (Brown wire) and T (Black wire) of cluster harness connector. Voltmeter should read battery voltage.
- Check voltage between pins D (Gray wire) and T (Black wire) of cluster harness. Turn headlight switch clockwise and counterclockwise. Voltage should vary from 0 to battery voltage. If switch responds as described, replace cluster.
- If voltages in step 5) were not correct, disconnect negative battery cable. Remove left hand trim cover. Remove light switch. Using an ohmmeter, check for opens and shorts between pin D (Gray wire) of cluster harness connector and Dark Green wire of headlight switch connector.
- Check for opens and shorts between pin S (Brown wire) of the cluster harness connector and Brown wire of headlight switch connector. If wiring if good, replace headlight switch.
