Piston & Rod Assembly: Removal

With oil pan, oil pump and cylinder head removed, use a suitable ridge reamer to remove any ridge or deposits on upper end of cylinder bore.

NOTE: Piston must be at bottom of stroke and covered with cloth to collect cuttings. Inspect connecting rods and caps for cylinder identification and mark as necessary. Remove rod cap and install a short piece of 3/8" hose over connecting rod studs. Push piston and rod assembly out top of cylinder block.
