Diagnosis Procedure

Check the tail lamp bulb and side marker lamp bulb.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 2.

NO

Body side: Replace the corresponding stop/tail lamp bulb. Refer to Bulb Replacement .

NO

Trunk lid side: Replace the corresponding tail lamp bulb. Refer to Bulb Replacement .

NO

Side marker lamp: Replace front combination lamp. Refer to Removal and Installation .

CONSULT

1. Ignition switch ON.
2. Select "TAIL LAMP" in "Active Test" mode of "IPDM E/R".
3. With operating the test items, check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

NO

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation .

1. Ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the following connectors:
   • IPDM E/R
   • Front combination lamp LH
   • Front combination lamp RH
   • Rear combination lamp LH (body side)
   • Rear combination lamp LH (trunk lid side)
   • Rear combination lamp RH (body side)
   • Rear combination lamp RH (trunk lid side)
   • License plate lamp LH
   • License plate lamp RH
3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and each rear combination lamp harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 4.

NO

Repair or replace harness.

1. Check continuity between each rear combination lamp harness connector and ground.

YES

Body side: Check the corresponding stop/tail lamp bulb socket or harness. Repair or replace if necessary.

YES

Trunk lid side: Check the corresponding tail lamp bulb socket or harness. Repair or replace if necessary.

YES

Side marker lamp: Replace front combination lamp. Refer to Removal and Installation .

NO

Repair or replace harness.
