Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Drain engine coolant. Refer to Changing Engine Coolant .
    CAUTION:
    • Perform this step when engine is cold.
    • Do not spill engine coolant on drive belt.
  2. Remove fan coupling. Refer to Removal and Installation (Crankshaft driven type) .
  3. Remove multi-way control valve and multi-way control valve housing. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove water pump pulley.
  5. Remove water pump.
    • Engine coolant will leak from cylinder block, so have a receptacle ready under vehicle.
    CAUTION:
    • Handle the water pump vane so that it does not contact any other parts.
    • Do not disassemble water pump.
