Diagnosis Procedure

- CHECK STARTER MOTOR MAGNETIC SWITCH CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect starter motor connector F28.
- Shift transmission into P (Park) or N (Neutral).
- Check voltage between starter motor connector F28 and ground with the ignition in START.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Magnetic switch circuit is OK. Further inspection is necessary. Refer to Work Flow (With DSS-5000P NI) or Work Flow (Without DSS-5000P NI) .
NO
GO TO 2
- CHECK CONNECTOR
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Check the IPDM E/R connector F49 and starter motor connector F28 for damage, bent pins and loose connections.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 3 .
NO
Repair the terminal and connector.
- CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (OPEN CIRCUIT)
- Disconnect IPDM E/R connector F49.
- Check continuity between starter motor connector F28 and IPDM E/R connector F49.

Repair the harness.
