Diagnosis Procedure

  1. PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT 

    Perform "Self Diagnostic Result" of "IPDM E/R" using CONSULT.

    Is display history of DTC B20A1 CRNT?

    YES

    GO TO 2 .

    NO

    Refer to Intermittent Incident .

  2. CHECK O2 SENSOR #1 CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector F50.
    2. Disconnect the following engine connectors:
      • heated oxygen sensor 2 (bank 2) F56.
      • air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1 (bank 2) F61.
    3. Check voltage between IPDM E/R connector F50 and ground.

    Ignition switch: OFF

    0V

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 3 .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  3. CHECK O2 SENSOR #2 CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Disconnect the following engine connectors:
      • heated oxygen sensor 2 (bank 1) F62.
      • air fuel ratio (A/F) sensor 1 (bank 1) F12.
    2. Check voltage between IPDM E/R connector F50 and ground.

    0V

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 4 .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  4. CHECK ENGINE SOLENOID CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Disconnect the following engine connectors:
      • exhaust valve timing control solenoid valve (bank 1) F78.
      • exhaust valve timing control solenoid valve (bank 2) F79.
      • intake valve timing intermediate lock control solenoid valve (bank 1) F76.
      • intake valve timing intermediate lock control solenoid valve (bank 2) F77.
      • intake valve timing control solenoid valve (bank 1) F67.
      • intake valve timing control solenoid valve (bank 2) F66.
      • EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve F29.
      • ECM E10.
    2. Check voltage between IPDM E/R connector F50 and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 5 .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  5. CHECK ECM BATTERY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    1. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector E18.
    2. Disconnect the following engine connectors:
      • VIAS control solenoid valve 1 F63.
      • VIAS control solenoid valve 2 F65.
      • EVAP canister vent control valve B39.
      • Electronic controlled engine mount control solenoid valve F64.
    3. Check voltage between IPDM E/R connector E18 and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.
