Exterior Lighting System (Circuit Diagnosis)

CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY VOLTAGE SUPPLY

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the daytime running light relay harness connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON.

Check the voltage between the following daytime running light relay harness connector terminals and ground.

Is the inspection results normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

GO TO 2.

CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY CIRCUIT

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector E121.
Disconnect daytime running light relay harness connector.

Check continuity between the IPDM E/R harness connector and the daytime running light relay harness connector.

Check continuity between the IPDM E/R harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection results normal?

YES

Replace IPDM E/R. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Repair or replace the harnesses or connectors.

CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP RELAY COIL CIRCUIT

Check continuity between the IPDM E/R harness connector and daytime running light relay harness connector.

Check continuity between the IPDM E/R harness connector E218 and ground.

Is the inspection results normal?

YES

GO TO 4.

Repair or replace the harnesses or connectors.

CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT RELAY
Check the daytime running light relay. Refer to Component Inspection .

Is the inspection results normal?

YES

GO TO 5.

NO

Replace relay.

CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the front combination lamp harness connector E233 or E238 in question.

Check continuity between the daytime running light relay harness connector and the front combination lamp harness connector.

Is the inspection results normal?

YES

GO TO 6.

Repair or replace the harnesses or connectors.

CHECK DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

Check continuity between the front combination lamp harness connector and ground.

Does continuity exist?

YES

Inspection End.

Repair or replace the harnesses or connectors.
