Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect sunshade motor assembly connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    4. Check voltage between sunshade motor assembly harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 2.

    NO

    GO TO 3.

  2. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check continuity between sunshade motor assembly harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 4.

    NO

    Repair or replace the harness.

  3. CHECK SUNSHADE MOTOR CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect BCM connector.
    3. Disconnect the moonroof motor assembly.
    4. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and sunshade motor assembly connector.

    5. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 4.

    NO

    Repair or replace the harness.

  4. CHECK SUNSHADE SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL 
    1. Connect sunshade motor assembly.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Check voltage between the sunshade motor assembly connector and ground.

    Is the measurement value within the specification?

    YES

    Replace the sunshade motor assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO

    GO TO 5.

  5. CHECK SUNSHADE SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the sunshade motor assembly and the sunshade switch.
    3. Check continuity between the sunshade motor assembly connector and sunshade switch connector.

    4. Check continuity between the sunshade motor assembly connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 6.

    NO

    Repair or replace harness.

  6. CHECK SUNSHADE SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT 
    1. Connect the sunshade motor assembly.
    2. Check continuity between the sunshade switch connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness.

  7. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT 

    Refer to Intermittent Incident .

    Inspection End.
