Diagnosis Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Infiniti QX60. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. DETERMINE MALFUNCTION TYPE 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 30 seconds.
    3. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 30 seconds or more.
    4. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "MULTI AV" using CONSULT.
    5. Check DTC.

    Is DTC U1609 detected?

    YES

    GO TO 2.

    YES

    GO TO 3.

    YES

    GO TO 4.

    YES

    GO TO 5.

    NO

    Refer to Intermittent Incident .

  2. CHECK SOUND SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR OPEN 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Bose speaker amp. connector B121 and front door speaker RH connector.
    3. Check the continuity between Bose speaker amp. connector B121 and front door speaker RH connector D112.

    4. Disconnect front tweeter RH connector.
    5. Check the continuity between Bose speaker amp. connector B121 and front tweeter RH connector M111.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace front door speaker RH or front tweeter RH. Refer to Removal and Installation (front door speaker) or Removal and Installation (front tweeter).

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  3. CHECK SOUND SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR SHORT 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Bose speaker amp. connector B121, front door speaker RH connector and front tweeter RH connector.
    3. Check the continuity between the terminals of Bose speaker amp. connector B121.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace front door speaker RH or front tweeter RH. Refer to Removal and Installation (front door speaker) or Removal and Installation (front tweeter).

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  4. CHECK SOUND SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Bose speaker amp. connector B121, front door speaker RH connector and front tweeter RH connector.
    3. Check the continuity between Bose speaker amp. connector B121 and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace front door speaker RH or front tweeter RH. Refer to Removal and Installation (front door speaker) or Removal and Installation (front tweeter).

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.

  5. CHECK SOUND SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect Bose speaker amp. connector B121, front door speaker RH connector and front tweeter RH connector.
    3. Turn ignition switch ON.
    4. Check the voltage between Bose speaker amp. connector B121 and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Replace front door speaker RH or front tweeter RH. Refer to Removal and Installation (front door speaker) or Removal and Installation (front tweeter).

    NO

    Repair or replace harness or connectors.
