Second Row Seat: Seatback: Disassembly

  1. Remove the LH seat. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the LH seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion .
  3. Remove the armrest assembly. Refer to Armrest Assembly .
  4. Release pawls and metal clip, and remove the outer finisher (RH) (1).

  5. Release the seatback heater harness (if equipped) from all attachments.
    NOTE: Take note of harness routing and attachment locations for correct installation.
  6. Release pawls and remove the recliner finisher (center) (1).

  7. Release clip.

    SYMBOL : Clip

  8. Remove screws (SYMBOL ), then release metal clips and remove the seat cushion latch finisher (2).

    SYMBOL : Metal clip

  9. Remove screws (SYMBOL ), then release metal clip and remove the rear finisher (1).

  10. Remove seat belt retractor (center) bottom anchor bolt.
  11. Remove the headrest (LH).
  12. Reach up behind the seatback pad, release the headrest holder locks as shown and remove the headrest holders.

    CAUTION: Before removing/installing headrest holder, check its orientation (front/rear and right/left).
  13. Remove the seat belt retractor finisher (1) from seatback (2).

    1. Release pawls using a suitable tool and lift front (SYMBOL ) of seat belt retractor finisher.

      SYMBOL : Pawl

    2. Push on rear (SYMBOL ) of seat belt retractor finisher to remove.

      SYMBOL : Front

  14. Remove EZ entry lever finisher (3) by pulling firmly.

  15. Release pawls and remove EZ entry finisher (2) from seatback (1).

  16. Remove the seatback pad and seatback trim (2).

    1. Release the J-clip retainer (SYMBOL ) at the rear lower edge of seatback.
    2. Remove five clips that retain seatback trim in place.

      SYMBOL : Clip

    3. Release retainer strips (A) from the seat frame assembly.
    4. Release clips that retain trim behind EZ entry finisher.
    5. Remove the seatback pad and seatback trim as an assembly from the seat frame assembly (1).
    6. Route the seat belt through the opening in the seatback trim.
  17. Separate the seatback trim (1) from the seatback pad.

    1. Pull seatback trim upward in front to release hook fasteners (A).
    2. Remove hog rings and separate the seatback trim from the seatback pad.
      NOTE: Remove all pieces of hog rings and discard them.

      SYMBOL : Hog ring

    3. Route the seatback heater harness (if equipped) through the opening in the seatback trim.
