Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Drain the differential gear oil. Refer to Changing Differential Gear Oil .
  2. Remove the rear stabilizer bar clamps and bushings and position stabilizer bar (1) out of the way. Refer to Removal and Installation .

  3. Remove the brake tube (2) from the carrier cover and position out of the way.
  4. Remove the carrier cover bolts, the carrier cover and gasket from the gear carrier.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not damage the mating surface.
    • Do not insert flat-bladed screwdriver, this will damage the gasket and mating surface.
