DTC Diagnosis Procedure
Controls the front step lamps (if equipped) (ground side) to turn the lamps ON and OFF.
- CHECK STEP LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Open driver's door.
- Check voltage between BCM harness connector M20 terminal 62 and ground.
NOTE: Observe interior lamp timer period when performing test.Connector

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Step lamp control circuit is operating normally.

GO TO 3

- CHECK STEP LAMP OPEN CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect BCM harness connector M20 and front step lamp harness connector in question.
- Check continuity between BCM harness connector M20 terminal 62 and step lamp harness connector in question.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Check step lamp for an open. If NG, replace step lamp. Refer to Removal and Installation . If OK, replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Repair harness or connectors.
- CHECK STEP LAMP SHORT CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect BCM harness connector M20.
- Check continuity between BCM harness connector M20 terminal 62 and ground.

YES
Check step lamps for a short circuit. If NG, replace step lamp. Refer to Removal and Installation . If OK, replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Repair the harness or connectors.
