DTC Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK KEY SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Check key switch KEY ON SW in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT. Refer to CONSULT Function (BCM - DOOR LOCK) .

    • When key is inserted to ignition key cylinder:

      KEY ON SW

      : ON

    • When key is removed from ignition key cylinder:

      KEY ON SW

      : OFF

    SYMBOL Without CONSULT

    Check voltage between BCM connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.

    Key is removed.

    0

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Key switch (insert) circuit is OK.

    NO

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK KEY SWITCH (INSERT) 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect key switch connector.
    3. Check continuity between key switch terminals 2 and 1.

    Key is inserted.

    Yes

    Key is removed.

    No

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    GO TO 3.

    NO

    Replace key switch and key lock solenoid.

  3. CHECK KEY SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Disconnect BCM.
    2. Check continuity between the BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 and key switch harness connector M27 terminal 1.

      37 - 1

      : Continuity should exist

    3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector M18 terminal 37 and ground.

      37 - Ground

      : Continuity should not exist

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident .

    NO

    Repair or replace harness.
