DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Nissan NV3500 HD and 2019 Nissan NV2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
  1. PRECONDITIONING 

    If "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE" is previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR FUNCTION 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and cool the engine.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
      CAUTION: Never start the engine.
    3. Select "ATF TEMP 1" in "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
    4. Select "COOLANT TEMP/S" in "Data Monitor" in "ENGINE".
    5. Check temperature difference between A/T fluid and engine coolant.

    SYMBOL With GST

    1. Complete engine diagnoses P0111, P0116, and P0196.
    2. After starting the engine start, run the engine at idle for 5 minutes.
    3. Check the DTC.

    Is the temperature calculated by subtracting engine coolant temperature from A/T fluid temperature more than 33 deg.C (91.4 deg.F) or is it less than -19 deg.C (-2.2 deg.F)? (With CONSULT)/Is "P0711" detected? (With GST)

    YES

    Go to DTC Diagnosis Procedure .

    NO

    INSPECTION END

    NO

    GO TO 3.

    NO

    GO TO 3.

  3. CHECK DTC DETECTION 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and cool the engine.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
      CAUTION: Never start the engine.
    3. Select "SLCT LVR POSI", "VHCL/S SE-A/T", "ACCELE POSI", "ATF TEMP 1" in "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
    4. Record A/T fluid temperature.
    5. Start the engine and wait for at least 3 minutes.
    6. Drive the vehicle for the total minutes specified in the Driving time column below with the following conditions satisfied.

      SLCT LVR POSI

      : D

      VHCL/S SE-A/T

      : 10 km/h (7 MPH) or more

      ACCELE POSI

      : 0.5/8 or more

      A/T fluid temperature before engine start

      Driving time

      -40 deg.C (-40 deg.F) --31 deg.C (-23.8 deg.F)

      18 minutes or more

      -30 deg.C (-22 deg.F) --21 deg.C (-5.8 deg.F)

      15 minutes or more

      -20 deg.C (-4 deg.F) --11 deg.C (12.2 deg.F)

      12 minutes or more

      -10 deg.C (14 deg.F) --1 deg.C (30.2 deg.F)

      9 minutes or more

      0 deg.C (32 deg.F) - 9 deg.C (48.2 deg.F)

      6 minutes or more

      10 deg.C (50 deg.F) - 19 deg.C (66.2 deg.F)

      3 minutes or more
    7. Perform "Self Diagnostic Results" in "TRANSMISSION".

    SYMBOL With GST

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and cool the engine.
    2. Start the engine and wait for at least 3 minutes.
    3. Drive the vehicle and maintain the following conditions for 18 minutes or more.

      Selector lever

      : D position

      Vehicle speed

      : 10 km/h (7 MPH) or more

      Accelerator pedal opening

      : 0.5/8 or more
    4. Check the DTC.

    Is "P0711" detected?

    YES

    Go to DTC Diagnosis Procedure .

    NO

    To check malfunction symptom before repair: Refer to Intermittent Incident .

    NO

    Confirmation after repair: INSPECTION END
