Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly using power tool. Refer to Adjustment .
  2. Remove shock absorber lower nut and bolt.
  3. Loosen the stabilizer bar connecting rod bolt and nut on the opposing side of the vehicle that is not being serviced.
  4. Remove stabilizer bar connecting rod from the lower link that is to be replaced. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  5. Support the knuckle and upper link using a suitable jack.
  6. Remove the cotter pin (A) and nut (B) from the lower link ball joint and discard the cotter pin. Separate the lower link ball joint from steering knuckle using suitable tool.

    CAUTION: Do not reuse cotter pin.
  7. Remove lower link bolts (A), nuts (B) and eccentric discs (1), then the lower link.

    CAUTION: Do not reuse lower link nuts.
  8. Remove the bound bumper as necessary.
