Circuit Diagnosis Procedure
Terminal "2" (S) is the power supply for the starter motor magnetic switch. Terminal 2 is supplied with power when the ignition switch is turned to the START position while the selector lever is in the P (Park) or N (Neutral) position.
- CHECK STARTER MOTOR MAGNETIC SWITCH CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect starter motor connector E209 (VQ40DE) or F42 (VK56VD).
- Shift transmission into park or neutral.
- Check voltage between starter motor connector E209 (VQ40DE) or F42 (VK56VD) terminal 2 and ground with the ignition in START.
