How To Erase Permanent DTC

  1. CHECK DTC 

    Check DTC.

    Is any DTC detected?

    YES

    Repair malfunction(s) and erase DTC.

    NO

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK PERMANENT DTC 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. Select "PERMANENT DTC STATUS" mode with CONSULT.

    SYMBOL With GST

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. Select Service $0A with GST.

    Is any permanent DTC detected?

    YES

    GO TO 3.

    YES

    GO TO 4.

    YES

    GO TO 5.

    YES

    GO TO 6.

    YES

    GO TO 7.

    YES

    GO TO 8.

    NO

    END

  3. HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC (GROUP A) 
    CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.

    Drive the vehicle according to driving pattern D. Refer to Driving Pattern .

    GO TO 9.

  4. HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC (GROUP B) 
    CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Hold P position over 10 seconds.
    4. Shift the selector lever to R position with brake pedal depressed and hold R position over 10 seconds.
    5. Shift the selector lever to N position with brake pedal depressed and hold N position over 10 seconds.
    6. Shift the selector lever to D position with brake pedal depressed and hold D position over 10 seconds.
    7. Drive the vehicle according to driving pattern D. Refer to Driving Pattern .

    GO TO 9.

  5. HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC (GROUP C) 
    CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Maintain the following conditions for 10 seconds or more.
      CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.

      Accelerator pedal position

      : 1.0/8

      Vehicle speed

      : 40 km/h (25 MPH) or more
    4. Drive the vehicle according to driving pattern D. Refer to Driving Pattern .

    GO TO 9.

  6. HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC (GROUP D) 
    CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Maintain the following conditions. (Hold each gear for 2 seconds or more)
      CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.

      A/T fluid temperature

      : 20 deg.C (68 deg.F) - 90 deg.C (194 deg.F)

      Selector lever

      : M position

      Accelerator pedal position

      : 0.8/8 or more

      Vehicle speed

      : 15 km/h (9 MPH) or more

      Gear

      : 1st through 7th
    4. Drive the vehicle according to driving pattern D. Refer to Driving Pattern .

    GO TO 9.

  7. HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC (GROUP E) 
    CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Maintain the following conditions for 10 seconds or more.
      CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.

      Selector lever

      : M position

      Gear

      : 2nd

      Accelerator pedal position

      : 1.3/8 or more

      Vehicle speed

      : 40 km/h (25 MPH) or more
    4. Drive the vehicle according to driving pattern D. Refer to Driving Pattern .

    GO TO 9.

  8. HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC (GROUP F) 
    CAUTION: Always drive at a safe speed.
    1. Adjust that fuel level is between 1/4 and 4/4.
    2. Move the vehicle to a cool place.
      NOTE: Cool the vehicle in an environment of ambient air temperature less than 20 deg.C (68 deg.F).
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and leave the vehicle for 12 hours.
      CAUTION: Never turn ignition switch ON during this procedure.
      NOTE: The vehicle must be cooled with the hood open.
    4. Start the engine.
    5. Drive the vehicle for the total minutes specified in the Driving time column below with the following conditions satisfied.

      Selector lever

      : D position

      Vehicle speed

      : 10 km/h (7 MPH) or more

      A/T fluid temperature when engine start

      Driving time

      -40 deg.C (-40 deg.F) to -31 deg.C (-23.8 deg.F)

      21 minutes or more

      -30 deg.C (-22 deg.F) to -21 deg.C (-5.8 deg.F)

      18 minutes or more

      -20 deg.C (-4 deg.F) to -11 deg.C (12.2 deg.F)

      15 minutes or more

      -10 deg.C (14 deg.F) to -1 deg.C (30.2 deg.F)

      12 minutes or more

      0 deg.C (32 deg.F) to 9 deg.C (48.2 deg.F)

      9 minutes or more

      10 deg.C (50 deg.F) to 19 deg.C (66.2 deg.F)

      6 minutes or more
    6. Stop the vehicle. (Never stop engine.)
    7. Drive the vehicle according to driving pattern D. Refer to Driving Pattern .

    GO TO 9.

  9. CHECK PERMANENT DTC 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. Select "PERMANENT DTC STATUS" mode with CONSULT.

    SYMBOL With GST

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
    4. Turn ignition switch ON.
    5. Select Service $0A with GST.

    Is any permanent DTC detected?

    YES

    GO TO 1.

    NO

    END
