Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Nissan NV3500 HD, 2019 Nissan NV2500 HD, and 2019 Nissan NV1500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect both the negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least three minutes. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
  2. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the front passenger air bag module screws (A).

  4. Release the front passenger air bag module pawls using a suitable tool (A).

  5. Lift the front passenger air bag module and remove from the instrument panel.
    CAUTION:
    • Always place the front passenger air bag module with pad side facing upward.
    • Do not impact the front passenger air bag module.

    • Replace the front passenger air bag module if it has been dropped or sustained an impact.
    • Do not insert any foreign objects (screwdriver, etc.) into the front passenger air bag module.
    • Do not disassemble the front passenger air bag module.
    • Do not expose the front passenger air bag module to temperatures exceeding 90 deg. C (194 deg. F).
    • Do not allow oil, grease, detergent, or water to come in contact with the front passenger air bag module.
