Diagnosis Procedure

  1. ADJUST THE NEUTRAL POSITION OF THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 

    When U0428 is detected, adjust the neutral position of the steering angle sensor.

    Perform adjustment of the neutral position of the steering angle sensor. Refer to Work Procedure (VDC/TCS/ABS TYPE1) or Work Procedure (VDC/TCS/ABS TYPE2).

    CAUTION: For vehicles with VDC, adjust the steering angle sensor neutral position on the ABS actuator control unit side.

    GO TO 2.

  2. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE 

    SYMBOL CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Erase DTC.
    3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "AVM" using.
    4. Check DTC.

    Is DTC U0428 detected?

    YES

    Replace steering angle sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation (VDC/TCS/ABS TYPE1) or Removal and Installation (VDC/TCS/ABS TYPE2).

    NO

    Inspection End.
