Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove front wheels and tires using power tool. Refer to Road Wheel .
  2. Remove brake caliper torque member bolts, leaving brake hose attached, reposition the caliper aside with wire. Refer to Removal and Installation .
    CAUTION: Do not depress brake pedal while brake caliper is removed.
  3. Put alignment marks on disc rotor and wheel hub and bearing assembly, then remove disc rotor.
    CAUTION:
    • Put alignment marks on the wheel hub and bearing assembly and the disc rotor before removing the disc rotor.
    • Do not drop the disc rotor.
  4. Remove speed sensor.
  5. Disengage the drive shaft from wheel hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Exploded View (LH) and Exploded View (RH) .
  6. Separate the outer socket from the knuckle. Refer to Exploded View .
  7. Remove the strut from the knuckle using power tool. Refer to Exploded View .
  8. Remove transverse link from steering knuckle.
  9. Remove the steering knuckle and hub.
  10. Remove transverse link nuts and bolts.
  11. Remove transverse link from suspension member.
