Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove engine room cover. Refer to Removal and Installation (VQ35DD).
  2. Remove battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Partially drain engine coolant from radiator. Refer to Changing Engine Coolant .
    CAUTION:
    • Perform this step when the engine is cold.
    • Do not spill engine coolant on the drive belt.
  4. Remove air cleaner and air duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT .
  5. Remove the electric throttle control actuator engine coolant hoses.
  6. Remove radiator hose (upper) and heater hoses.
  7. Remove heater pipe.
  8. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor (if necessary).
  9. Remove water outlet.
  10. Remove water connector (if necessary).
    NOTE: For VQ35DD, it is necessary to remove engine oil dipstick guide before removing water connector.
