Diagnosis Procedure

- CHECK DTC PRIORITY
If DTC P2616 is displayed with the following DTC, perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for the applicable DTC.
- P0011
- P0340
- P1140
- P34A4
- P34A5
- P34A6
- P34A7
- P34AC
- P34AD
Is DTC P0011, P0340, P1140, P34A4, P34A5, P34A6, P34A7, P34AC or P34AD detected?
YES
Perform diagnosis of applicable.
- DTC P0011: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P0340: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P1140: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P34A4: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P34A5: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P34A6: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P34A7: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P34AC: Refer to DTC Description .
- DTC P34AD: Refer to DTC Description .
NO
GO TO 2.
- CHECK INTAKE CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR (BANK 1) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR ELECTRIC INTAKE VALVE TIMING CONTROL
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector and electric intake valve timing control module harness connector.
- Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and electric intake valve timing control module harness connector.

- Also check harness for short to power and short to ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 3.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK ELECTRIC INTAKE VALVE TIMING (IVT) CONTROL ACTUATOR (BANK 1) CIRCUIT
- Disconnect electric IVT control actuator (bank 1) harness connector.
- Disconnect electric IVT control module harness connector.
- Check the continuity between electric IVT control actuator (bank 1) harness connector and ECM harness connector.
