Diagnosis Procedure

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor harness connector.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Check the voltage between CKP sensor harness connector and ground.

   +		-	Voltage (Approx.)
   CKP sensor
   Connector	Terminal
   F11	1	Ground	5 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

NO

GO TO 2.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF
2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
3. Check the continuity between CKP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

   CKP sensor		ECM		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   F11	1	F78	34	Existed

4. Also check harness for short to power and short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Perform the trouble diagnosis for ECM power supply circuit.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
3. Check the continuity between CKP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

   CKP sensor		ECM		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   F11	2	F78	28	Existed

4. Also check harness for short to power.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 4.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

1. Check the continuity between CKP sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.

   CKP sensor		ECM		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   F11	3	F78	31	Existed

2. Also check harness for short to power and short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 5.

NO

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

Check CKP sensor. Refer to Component Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 6.

NO

Replace CKP sensor. Refer to Exploded View .

1. Remove CKP sensor. Refer to Exploded View .
2. Look into the mounting hole of the CKP sensor to check that there is no missing gear tooth in the signal plate .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

INSPECTION END

NO

Replace the signal plate (drive plate). Refer to DRIVE PLATE .
