DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Nissan NV3500 HD, 2018 Nissan NV2500 HD, and 2018 Nissan NV1500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
  1. PRECONDITIONING 

    If DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE is previously conducted, always turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds before performing the next test.

    GO TO STEP 2  .

  2. CHECK DTC DETECTION (PART 1) 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Select "VHCL/S SE-A/T" in "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
    3. Start the engine and maintain the following condition for 10 seconds or more.

      VHCL/S SE-A/T

      : 10 km/h (6 MPH) or more

    SYMBOL With GST

    Follow the procedure "With CONSULT".

    Is "P1710" detected?

    YES

    Go to Diagnosis Procedure .

    NO

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO

    GO TO STEP 4  .

  3. CHECK A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and cool the engine.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
      CAUTION: Do not start engine.
    3. Select "ATF TEMP 1" in "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
    4. Record A/T fluid temperature.

    A/T fluid temperature is less than 20°C (68°F)

    GO TO STEP 4  .

    A/T fluid temperature is 20°C (68°F) or more.

    GO TO STEP 5  .

    INSPECTION END

  4. CHECK DTC DETECTION (PART 2) 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Select "SLCT LVR POSI", "VHCL/S SE-A/T", "ACCELE POSI", "ATF TEMP 1" in "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
    2. Start the engine and wait for at least 3 minutes.
    3. Drive the vehicle for the total minuets specified in the Driving time column below with the following conditions satisfied.

      SLCT LVR POSI

      : D

      VHCL/S SE-A/T

      : 10 km/h (6 MPH) or more

      ACCELE POSI

      : 0.5/8 or more

      A/T fluid temperature before engine start

      Driving time

      -40°C (-40°F) - -31°C (-23.8°F)

      20 minutes or more

      -30°C (-22°F) - -21°C (-5.8°F)

      18 minutes or more

      -20°C (-4°F) - -11°C (12.2°F)

      14 minutes or more

      -10°C (14°F) - -1°C (30.2°F)

      11 minutes or more

      0°C (32°F) - 9°C (48.2°F)

      8 minutes or more

      10°C (50°F) - 19°C (66.2°F)

      5 minutes or more

    SYMBOL With GST

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and cool the engine.
    2. Start the engine and wait for at least 3 minutes.
    3. Drive the vehicle and maintain the following conditions for 20 minutes or more.

      Selector lever

      : D position

      Vehicle speed

      : 10 km/h (7 MPH) or more

      Accelerator pedal opening

      : 0.5/8 or more
    4. Check the DTC.

    Is "P0710" detected?

    YES

    Go to Diagnosis Procedure .

    NO

    GO TO STEP 5  .

    NO

    INSPECTION END

  5. CHECK A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR FUNCTION 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Select "ATF TEMP 1" in "Data Monitor" in "TRANSMISSION".
    2. Select "COOLANT TEMP/S" in "Data Monitor" in "ENGINE".
    3. Check temperature difference between A/T fluid and engine coolant.

    SYMBOL With GST

    1. Complete engine diagnoses P0111 and P0116.
    2. After starting the engine start, run the engine at idle for 5 minutes.
    3. Check the DTC.

    Is the temperature calculated by subtracting engine coolant temperature from A/T fluid temperature more than 33°C (91.4°F) or is it less than -19°C (-2.2°F)? (With CONSULT)/Is "P0710" detected? (With GST)

    YES

    Go to Diagnosis Procedure .

    NO

    INSPECTION END
