Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING:
To avoid the danger of being scalded, do not drain engine oil when engine is hot.
NOTE:
When removing components such as hoses, tubes/lines, etc., cap or plug openings to prevent fluid from spilling.
- Remove oil pan (lower). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove oil strainer.
- Remove oil cooler. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove A/T fluid warmer. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove drive belt. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect harness connector from the compressor.
- Remove bolts and reposition A/C compressor. Refer to Removal and Installation for A/C Compressor - VK56VD
.NOTE: It is not required to remove the high-pressure and low-pressure flexible hoses from the A/C compressor.
- Remove oil level gauge and oil level gauge guide.
- Disconnect harness connectors from engine oil pressure sensor and engine oil temperature sensor.
- Remove rear plate cover.
- Remove bolts fixing oil pan (upper) to transmission assembly. Refer to Exploded View .
- Remove oil pan (upper) as per the following:
- Loosen bolts in the reverse of the sequence as shown, below.
NOTE: Disregard No. 9, 16 when loosening.
: Engine front
- Insert a suitable tool into the notch at oil pan (upper) (1) as shown, below.
- Pry off case by moving a suitable tool.
CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the mating surfaces.: Engine front
- Loosen bolts in the reverse of the sequence as shown, below.
- Remove O-rings from bottom of cylinder block and oil pump.CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
- Remove engine oil pressure sensor and engine oil temperature sensor (if necessary).
