Diagnosis Procedure
Terminal B is constantly supplied with battery power.
- Remove fuel pump fuse.
- Crank or start the engine (where possible) until the fuel pressure is depleted.
- CHECK TERMINAL B POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Make sure that starter motor connector F227 (with Cummins 5.0L), or F43 (with VK56VD), connection is clean and tight.
- Check voltage between starter motor connector F227 (with Cummins 5.0L), or F43 (with VK56VD), and ground.

NO
Check harness between battery and starter motor for open circuit.
- CHECK BATTERY CABLE (VOLTAGE DROP TEST)
- Shift the transmission into park or neutral.
- Check voltage between battery positive terminal and starter motor connector F227 (with Cummins 5.0L), or F43 (with VK56VD), while cranking the engine.

Is the inspection normal?
YES
Terminal B circuit is OK. Further inspection is necessary. Refer to Work Flow (With DSS-5000P NI) or Work Flow (Without DSS-5000P NI) .
NO
Check the starter motor case to engine mounting for high resistance.
