Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the engine under cover. Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove the drive shafts (LH/RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove bolts (A) and remove front cross member (1).

  4. Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  5. Disconnect the breather hose from the front final drive assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation: Cummins 5.0 L Models  (Cummins 5.0L models) or, Removal and Installation: VK56VD Models  (VK56VD models).
  6. Support the front final drive assembly using a suitable jack.
  7. Loosen front lower link bolts (A) enough to remove final drive assembly bolts (B).

  8. Remove the front final drive assembly bolts, then remove the front final drive assembly.
    CAUTION: Support the front final drive assembly while removing using a suitable jack.
