Diagnosis Procedure

If DTC P059F displayed with DTC UXXXX, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0125, P0196, P0197, P0198, P0500, P0607 or P159F first perform the confirmation procedure (trouble diagnosis) for DTC UXXXX, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0125, P0196, P0197, P0198, P0500, P0607 or P159F.

Is DTC UXXXX, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0125, P0196, P0197, P0198, P0500, P0607or P159F detected?

YES

Perform diagnosis of applicable.

• DTC UXXXX: Refer to DTC Index .
• DTC P0116: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P0117, P0118: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P0125: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P0196: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P0197, P0198: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P0500: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P0607: Refer to DTC Description .
• DTC P159F: Refer to DTC Description .

NO

GO TO 2 .

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Check if any foreign objects interferes with active grille shutter.
3. Check the installation condition of active grille shutter.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3 .

NO

Repair or replace the error-detected parts.

1. Disconnect active grille shutter harness connector.
2. Check the voltage between active grille shutter harness connector and ground as follows.

   +		-	Condition	Voltage (Approx.)
   Active grille shutter
   Connector	Terminal
   E8	1	Ground	Ignition switch: ON	Battery voltage
   			Ignition switch: OFF	0 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 6 .

NO

GO TO 4 .

1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Pull out 20A fuse (No. 56) from IPDM E/R.
3. Check that 20A fuse is not blowing.

Is the fuse blown (open)?

YES

Replace the fuse after repairing the applicable circuit.

NO

GO TO 5 .

1. Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector and active grille shutter harness connector.

   IPDM E/R		Active grille shutter		Continuity

   E121	25	E8	1	Existed

3. Also check harness for short to power and short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.

NO

Repair or replace the error-detected parts.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF
2. Check the continuity between active grille shutter harness connector and ground.

   Active grille shutter		-	Continuity
   Connector	Terminal
   E8	4	Ground	Existed

3. Also check harness for short to power.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 7 .

NO

Repair or replace the error-detected parts.

1. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
2. Check the continuity between ECM harness connector and active grille shutter harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 8 .

NO

Repair or replace the error-detected parts.

Check active grille shutter. Refer to Component Inspection (Active Grille Shutter) .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

INSPECTION END

NO

Replace active grille shutter. Refer to Removal and Installation .
