Crankshaft Journal Diameter

Measure diameter of crankshaft journals (A).

Standard

: Refer to CRANKSHAFT .

If measurement is out of standard, measure the main bearing oil clearance. Then use the undersize bearing.

Use a suitable tool to measure all crankshaft journals.

NOTE: If the crankshaft connecting rod journals are not within the given specifications, the crankshaft must be replaced. Oversize connecting rod or main bearings are not available.

Check the bearing clearance of the connecting rod to the crankshaft.

(A)	: Crankshaft vibration damper journal
(B)	: Crankshaft sprocket (oil/fuel pump) journal
(C)	: Crankshaft sprocket (camshaft) journal
(D)	: Main bearing journal
(E)	: Connecting rod journal

Measure the rear oil seal flange outside diameter (A).

NOTE: If the rear seal flange area is not within specifications, replace the crankshaft.
