Inspection Before Removal

The vacuum pump (1) must produce enough vacuum to overcome the compressor bypass valve actuator spring. If the vacuum pump does not produce enough vacuum, the compressor bypass valve will not open.

Connect a suitable tool (B) to the vacuum pump inlet (A).

Start the engine. With the engine running at idle, observe the vacuum produced by the pump.

Required Vacuum (minimum)

: -40 kPa (-0.41 kg/cm ² , -5.8 psi)
