DTC Confirmation Procedure

- PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test:
- Start the engine and operate the engine to raise exhaust temperatures. This can be done by either driving the vehicle or initiating a stationary regeneration using CONSULT.
- Connect CONSULT and check for current "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.NOTE: After treatment diesel oxidation catalyst intake temperature must be above 150° C (302° F) for 5 seconds before the after treatment intake NOx sensor can run its internal diagnostics.
- Start the vehicle and accelerate to 90 km/h (56 MPH), then release the accelerator pedal and keep it released for more than 10 seconds.
- Depress the accelerator pedal until vehicle speed is 90 km/h (56 MPH) again.NOTE:
- Checking the vehicle speed with GST is advised.
- When steady-state driving is performed again even after it is interrupted, each diagnosis can be conducted. In this case, the time required for diagnosis may be extended.
- Check for DTC U059E-00 being current on the CONSULT screen.
Is DTC U059E-00 current?
YES
Go to Diagnosis Procedure .
NO
