DTC Confirmation Procedure

  1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE 

    If DTC Confirmation Procedure has been previously conducted, always perform the following procedure before conducting the next test.

    1. Refer to Basic Inspection steps for charting symptom information, including capturing Freeze Frame information. Refer to Work Flow .
    2. Turn ignition switch ON (engine OFF).
    3. Connect CONSULT, and record and save the Freeze Frame data.
    4. Using the Freeze Frame report to determine the operating conditions under which the misfire DTC set. Pay particular attention to vehicle speed, engine speed, and accelerator pedal position sensor.
    5. Using CONSULT, erase all DTCs..
    6. Turn the ignition OFF for 2 minutes.
      CAUTION: Always drive vehicle at safe speed.
    7. Operate the vehicle in the conditions determined from the Freeze Frame (See sub-step 3, above). If Freeze Frame is unavailable, operate the vehicle in a variety of conditions - idle, steady state, and light to moderate throttle acceleration. Operate the vehicle for at least 10 minutes..
    8. Bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
    9. Turn the ignition OFF for 2 minutes.
    10. Turn ignition switch ON (engine OFF).
    11. Connect CONSULT and check for current ENGINE diagnostic trouble codes.
    12. Check for DTC P0149-00 being current on the CONSULT screen.

    Is DTC P0149-00 current?

    YES

    Go to Diagnosis Procedure .

    NO

    Inspection End.
