The lift pump is powered by the battery using a relay. The ECM will commands the lift pump on (at key on) by grounding the coil of the lift pump relay. The lift pump draws fuel from the fuel tank through the stage 1 fuel filter. It supplies fuel to the high pressure fuel pump. The lift pump fuel gauge pressure is regulated to 87 psi(4.5 bar) maximum.

NOTE: CONSULT displays fuel supply pressure as absolute pressure. Subtract 101 kPa (1.03 Kg/cm 2 , 14.7 psi) at sea level from the CONSULT fuel supply pressure reading to approximate the gauge pressure reading.
