Diagnosis Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Nissan Titan XD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK DTC PRIORITY 
    CAUTION: To reduce the possibility of damaging a new ECM, all other active diagnostic trouble codes must be investigated prior to replacing the ECM.
    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Connect CONSULT and check for ENGINE diagnostic trouble codes.
    3. Check for DTC U1611-00, P1614-00, P1615-00, P1616-00 or P1623-00 being current on the CONSULT screen.

    Is applicable DTC detected?

    YES

    Refer to DTC Index .

    NO

    • A malfunctioning after treatment diesel particulate filter temperature sensor module has been detected. Replace the after treatment DPF temperature sensor module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
    • GO TO 2.
  2. CHECK FOR CURRENT DTC 
    1. Connect all components and harness connectors.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Using CONSULT, erase "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
    4. Operate the engine within the "Conditions for Clearing the DTC".
    5. Using CONSULT, check for current "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.

    Is P0544-00 DTC current?

    YES

    Return to Diagnosis Procedure. Refer to DTC Description .

    NO

    Repair complete.
