Diagnosis Procedure

- CHECK DTC PRIORITY
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Connect CONSULT and check for "ENGINE" diagnostic trouble codes.
- Check for DTC P053E-00 being current or multiple past counts on the CONSULT screen.
Is DTC P053E-00 detected as current?
YES
GO TO 2 .
NO
Refer to Intermittent Incident .
- CHECK CRANKCASE PRESSURE SENSOR
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Connect CONSULT and select "Data Monitor" mode.
- Select "CRANKCASE PRESSURE SENSOR" and check the indication.

0 ± 0.28 kPa (0 ± 1.13 psi)
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 3 .
NO
Replace crankcase pressure sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- CHECK CRANKCASE FILTER TUBE
Check that the breather tube is properly connected and that kinks or other restrictions are not present.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Troubleshoot the possible causes for excessive crankcase gases.
NO
Replace or properly connect the crankcase breather hose. Refer to Removal and Installation .
