Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK TRANSFER MOTOR POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect transfer control unit harness connector.
    3. Check the voltage between transfer control unit harness connector and ground.

    4. Turn the ignition switch ON.
      CAUTION: Never start the engine.
    5. Check the voltage between transfer control unit harness connector and ground.

      Ground

      Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Inspection End.

    NO

    GO TO 2 .

  2. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 

    Check the following.

    • Harness for short or open between battery positive terminal and transfer control unit harness connector terminal 10. Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagram
    • Battery
    • 30A fusible link (Cummins 5.0L: #Q, VK56VD: #O). Refer to Terminal Arrangement .

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES

    Inspection End.

    NO

    Repair or replace error-detected parts.
