Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK FOOT LAMP OUTPUT

CONSULT

Turn ignition switch ON.
Select "STEP LAMP TEST" in "Active Test""BCM".
While operating the test item, check voltage between BCM harness connector M18 terminal 21 and ground.

M18	21	Ground	STEP LAMP TEST	On	0V
				Off	Battery voltage

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Foot lamp control circuit is operating normally.

Fixed ON

GO TO 3 .

Fixed OFF

GO TO 2.

CHECK FOOT LAMP OPEN CIRCUIT

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the following harness connectors:
- BCM M18
- Foot lamp LH M93
- Foot lamp RH M92
Check continuity between BCM harness connector and the following lamp harness connector terminal:

BCM		Foot lamp			Continuity
Connector	Terminal	Connector		Terminal
M18	21	Foot lamp LH	M93	2	Yes
		Foot lamp RH	M92	2

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Check foot lamp for an open circuit. If open circuit is found, replace lamp in question. Refer to Removal and Installation or Bulb Replacement . If OK, replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Repair or replace harness or connectors.

CHECK FOOT LAMP SHORT CIRCUIT

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the following harness connectors:
- BCM M18
- Foot lamp LH M93
- Foot lamp RH M92
Check continuity between BCM harness connector M18 terminal 21 and ground.

BCM		(-)	Continuity
Connector	Terminal
M18	21	Ground	No

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace BCM. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Repair or replace harness or connectors.
