Diagnostic Procedure

CHECK DIFF LOCK INDICATOR LAMP
Confirm the DIFF LOCK indicator lamp proves out when ignition switch is turned ON.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 2 .

NO

Go to Component Function Check .
CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "DIFF LOCK". Refer to CONSULT Function .

Is any DTC detected by self-diagnosis?

YES

Check the malfunctioning system. Refer to DTC Index .

NO

GO TO STEP 3 .
CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK MODE SWITCH OPERATION
Check differential lock mode switch. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 4 .

NO

Repair component, harness or connector.
CHECK DIFFERENTIAL LOCK CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check differential lock control unit power supply and ground circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Replace the differential lock control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation .

NO

Repair harness or connector.
