Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. Apply medium strength thread locking sealant into the threaded holes for the carrier cover. install dry carrier cover gasket and carrier cover and bracket and tighten carrier cover bolts to the specification. Refer to Exploded View .
    CAUTION:
    • If carrier cover gasket is damaged replace it.
    • Remove any moisture, oil, or foreign material from the application and mating surfaces.
    NOTE: Use Genuine Medium Strength Locking Sealant or equivalent. Refer to Recommended Chemical Products and Sealants .
  2. Connect the parking brake cable and brake tube to the carrier cover.
  3. Fill the rear final drive assembly with recommended differential gear oil. Refer to Refilling .
