Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. Install rear oil seal using drift Tool specified until rear oil seal (1) is flush with transfer case assembly (2).

    Tool number

    : KV40104710 (-)
    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse rear oil seal.
    • Apply transfer fluid onto circumference of oil seal.
  2. Align matching mark on rear output shaft (B) with matching mark on rear companion flange (A), then install rear companion flange.

    CAUTION: Do not damage rear oil seal.
  3. Install O-ring between rear companion flange and self locking nut.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse O-ring.
    • Do not damage O-ring.
  4. Tighten self-locking nut.
    CAUTION: Do not reuse self-locking nut.
  5. Install rear propeller shaft. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  6. Fill with transfer fluid. Refer to Refilling .
    CAUTION: Do not reuse transfer fluid.
