Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. Install front oil seal (1) using a suitable drift tool until front oil seal is flush with transfer case assembly (2).

    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse front oil seal.
    • Apply transfer fluid onto circumference of oil seal.
  2. Align matching mark on front drive shaft (B) with matching mark on front companion flange (A), then install front companion flange.

    CAUTION: Do not damage front oil seal.
  3. Install O-ring between front companion flange and self locking nut.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse O-ring.
    • Do not damage O-ring.
  4. Tighten self-locking nut.
    CAUTION: Do not reuse self-locking nut.
  5. Install front propeller shaft. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  6. Fill with transfer fluid. Refer to Refilling .
    CAUTION: Do not reuse transfer fluid.
