Removal and Installation - Captain Seats: Removal

WARNING:
Do not leave any objects (screwdrivers, tools, etc.) on the seat during seat repair. It can lead to personal injury if the side air bag module should accidentally deploy.
CAUTION:
- When removing or installing seat trim, handle it carefully to keep dirt out and to avoid damage.
- When checking power seat circuit for continuity using a circuit tester, do not confuse its connector with side air bag module connector. Such an error may cause air bag module to deploy.
- Do not drop, tilt, or bump side air bag module while installing seat. Always handle it with care.
- After front side air bag module inflates, front seatback assembly must be replaced.
- When removing and installing seat, use shop cloths to protect components from damage.
- Before removing front seat, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery or batteries, then wait at least three minutes.
- Slide seat to the fully rearward position.
- Disconnect the battery or batteries and wait at least three minutes. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Using a suitable tool release pawls and remove bolt cover (1) and (2).

- Remove front seat front bolts (A).

- For models with power seats, connect the battery or batteries. Slide seat to the fully forward position. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- For models with power seats, disconnect the battery or batteries and wait at least three minutes. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Release pawls, then remove bolt cover (1) and rear leg finisher (2).

- Remove the front seat rear bolts (A).

- Disconnect harness connectors from the front seat assembly.
- Remove front seat assembly from vehicle.
