Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect battery or batteries, then wait at least three minutes. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
  2. Remove center console (except for center seat). Refer Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove glove box assembly and housing. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove steering column. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  5. Remove instrument panel side finishers (LH/RH) using a suitable tool.
  6. Remove combination meter. Refer to Removal and Installation (Type A) or Removal and Installation (Type B).
  7. Remove cluster lid C. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  8. Remove audio unit or AV control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation (DISPLAY AUDIO), Removal and Installation (NAVIGATION WITHOUT AMPLIFIER), Removal and Installation (NAVIGATION WITH AMPLIFIER), Removal and Installation (AROUND VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM), Removal and Installation (TELEMATICS SYSTEM), or Removal and Installation [REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT (RSE) SYSTEM].
  9. Partially remove body side welt (LH/RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  10. Remove front pillar finisher (LH/RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  11. Remove sunload sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  12. Remove front defroster grille using a suitable tool.
  13. Remove center speaker (if equipped). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  14. Remove front tweeter (LH/RH). Refer to Removal and Installation (DISPLAY AUDIO), Removal and Installation (NAVIGATION WITHOUT AMPLIFIER), or Removal and Installation (NAVIGATION WITH AMPLIFIER).
  15. Remove instrument upper panel. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  16. Remove front passenger air bag module bolts. Refer to Removal and Installation .
    CAUTION: Do not reuse the front passenger air bag module bolts.
  17. Remove instrument panel screws.
  18. Disconnect harness connectors from instrument panel assembly and front passenger air bag module.
  19. Remove instrument panel assembly.
