Inspection After Disassembly

CAUTION:
- To avoid possible engine and system damage or performance issues:
- Brush away all dirt and debris from the area prior to opening any fuel, air intake, exhaust, cooling, aftertreatment or other engine system.
- To avoid contamination, any open engine system ports must be closed immediately with clean care caps or an appropriate covering.
- Do not allow any debris to fall into the engine.
- Do not allow any chemical cleaners to enter the engine or any open systems during the cleaning process.
- To avoid possible damage to components, do not use a wire brush, gasket scraper or putty knife to clean surfaces.
- Clean the intake manifold and cylinder head mating surfaces with a contact cleaner and a clean cloth. Do not allow any gasket material or debris to drop into the cylinder head.
- Inspect the air intake manifold for cracks or other damage. If damage is present, replace component as necessary.
- Clean and inspect the air intake connection. If damage is present, replace component as necessary.
