Removal and Installation: Removal

- The illustration shows the location of the glow plugs.NOTE: Glow plug numbers correspond to cylinder number.
: Front
GLOW PLUGS (1, 3, 5, 6, 7)
CAUTION:
To avoid possible damage to or the breaking of the glow plug, apply penetration oil to the glow plug nut threads and allow to soak prior to removal.
- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect the harness connector from the glow plug.CAUTION: Pull glow plug harness connectors straight out to avoid damaging harness connector.
- Remove the glow plug.
GLOW PLUGS (4, 8)
CAUTION:
To avoid possible damage to or the breaking of the glow plug, apply penetration oil to the glow plug nut threads and allow to soak prior to removal.
- Disconnect the battery or batteries. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Disconnect the harness connector from glow plug.CAUTION: Pull glow plug harness connectors straight out to avoid damaging harness connector.
- Remove the glow plug.
GLOW PLUG (2)
CAUTION:
To avoid possible damage to or the breaking of the glow plug, apply penetration oil to the glow plug nut threads and allow to soak prior to removal.
- Remove the fuel filter housing (Stage 2). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect the harness connector glow plug.CAUTION: Pull glow plug harness connectors straight out to avoid damaging harness connector.
- Remove the glow plug.
